Simple and natural style that creates comfort and ease, this is the concept for the Belvest collection spring-summer 2013.

Men’s formalwear is enjoying a renaissance in international markets that increasingly demand solid yet creative items. This is why Belvest has designed a jacket and named it quintessentially Italian, for the sophisticated elegance of its silhouette and, above all, for its details: comfortably slim cut, slightly oblique pockets, slightly pulled in shoulders to meet the sleeve in a sartorial traditional style and ample balanced lapels not too narrow not too wide. The fabric chosen for this unlined garment is fundamental: like the lightest cashmere foulard with a micro texture.

The sport jacket, the second new model, is presented in a prominent textured fabric with an exuberance of details like pockets, buttons and slits for a strong dynamic image. The collection is crowned by a rich selection of knitwear in solid genuine colours that brighten up the blue jacket or khaki suit and a selection of ties and shirts in sophisticated checks, micro-checks and stripes or with a white neckband collar on fancy patterned body.

Fabrics are perfectly coordinated with the colour palette, taking inspiration from the fabulous pictures by the American painter Agnes Martin and in particular by “Falling Blue”, a magnetic work that when viewed up close is extraordinarily reminiscent of the weave and iridescent effects of textiles. “Crimson red” dots on cascades of “night sea”; “stone metal” in Glen check softened by a totally elegant “taupe green”. Every Belvest garment is a skilful combination of weaves and references, a mirror that reflects the mind of an artist.
